The SANA Art Foundation (formerly the Edward M. Smith Family Art Foundation) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to increase public appreciation and awareness of the importance of diversity in the world.

Our mission is to provide educational programs that relate to the historical and evolving culture of the Native American, African, and Oceanic people.

The Foundation provides opportunities for museum curators, educators and students to work with one of the largest collections of non-Western art in the San Diego region. Our Escondido-based exhibition space, library and research room house our art collection and over 2000 books and non-western periodicals to support research and expand the world's knowledge of past and emerging cultures.
